Old Steel Historical Firearms, or Old Steel Guns, as many know it, is by far the most unique gun shop in Denver and maybe the United States. Registered as a museum and public library, Old Steel sets itself apart from other gun shops with its vast inventory of collectible firearms.

Collectible Firearms at Old Steel
Old Steel has an incredible selection of antique and collectible firearms. Stretching from the Revolutionary War through Vietnam, it is a collector’s dream. The shop is a great place for long-time collectors and those looking to start collecting. At Old Steel, you’ll find racks full of military surplus rifles such as Lee Enfields, Mosin Nagants, and Mausers of various origins. In the pistol cases, you will see Nambus, Lugers, and the whole evolution of Colt pistols. With over 1,500 guns in inventory, it’s hard not to find something to fall in love with at Old Steel.
This Museum is More Than Just Guns
When walking into the new location, it’s hard to miss the massive Civil War canon that guards the door. This canon, the other artillery pieces, and naval deck guns are an incredible addition to the shop. Next, there are a total of five vehicles inside the storeroom. The British Ferret armored car is hard to miss as you make your way into the retail area. The two U.S. Army jeeps look like they just rolled off the assembly line headed to war.
Beyond the guns and military vehicles, there are endless selections of bayonets, knives, and swords. This, combined with various militaria, will please any military history buff. Lastly, their large supply of obsolete and surplus ammo shows their dedication to getting collectors what they want.
The Rick L. Ingwersen Library
Old Steel Historical Firearms is proud to bring you the Rick L. Ingwersen Library, with over 4,000 books to aid you in your research. This large selection of books includes many hard-to-find titles related to firearms, daggers, swords, and other military artifacts. Also, there are countless titles that cover historical events in detail. The library is a great tool to help you verify the originality of historical pieces and gain an accurate value. Due to the rarity of many of these books, the books must remain in the library. However, you are welcome to grab a cup of coffee from the espresso machine and settle in for as long as you’d like.
The Museum’s Curator’s room
Next is the curator’s room. A temperature and atmosphere-controlled room that houses the best of the best when it comes to historical items. Here, you will find historical documents and items that are one of a kind and not for sale. The items found here are very unique and play an important part in our world’s history. The curation room is expected to be revealed later this year(2023).
